Hello SLH Followers,
Right off the bat I wanted to let you all know that we will have summer hours this year. Starting in June and going through August we will be open Monday thru Friday 10:00am-7:00pm (this is closing an hour earlier), we will be open later on class nights still. Saturday & Sunday hours will remain the same; Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm & Sunday 12:00pm-5:00pm. We are looking forward to a nice summer and hope you all get a chance to get out and enjoy a hopefully sunny summer!
In other news...
For those of you who haven't heard, we are having GIRLS! They are most likely fraternal but no knowing for sure until they are born. We are super excited and Alia is thrilled to be a Big Sister! We have some names in mind but will be picking winners from the name contest on August 15th (or earlier if they decide to make their debut before that)!
The winners of our Facebook/Blog comment contest are:
(Blog Comment : My favorite sewing book currently is "The Farmer's Wife Sampler Quilt" by Laurie Aaron Hird. I love all of the stories that accompany the quilt blocks. Not to mention it has been a great book to stretch my quilting skills as I try each new quilt block.)
(Facebook Comment: My favorite item is my crayon bag pattern. I can now make them without any instructions.)
Today we have Angelyn as our featured Team Member so head on over to the blog to read what she has to say and then comment right there or comment on the Facebook post!
Thanks to everyone for playing!
Glacier Star Class *NEW & IMPROVED*
We have updated/rearranged the format for the Glacier Star class to fit summer needs! The class will now only cost $100! Whhaa-hoo! It will also be reduced to a FREE kitting session (May 24th) and class dates of May 25, June 15 & July 20. We think that this will help those of you who want to take it but cannot commit to two days in a row for three months! Head over to the website to get more info!
Dr Suess/Cat in the Hat Minkee Is IN THE STORE!!
If you are like our staff (well my sister and I) we went nuts for everything Kaufman put out for Dr. Suess.. and now Shannon Fabrics has joined in the fun by releasing "Cat in the Hat" in Minkee (that super soft umber comfy fabric that makes great backing). So, come on in the check it out.. I know that one bolt has already sold out!
OH MY! I want all of it.. I had to practice some serious self control! (Although the empty bolt I was referring to above is the Thing 1/Thing 2 fabric bolt.. which I have to say I was responsible for buying 4 yards of... Sorry! ) These bolts are about 11 yards each so they will go fast if you're thinking about backing a quilt with it!
And for those of you who follow the Modern Quilting movement.. we just got a new line from Rashida Coleman-Hale. Her line is called "Washi" and it is AWESOME! (I'm already halfway through a quilt with the fabric line!)
As you can see our summer is already off to a busy start with new fabrics! (And we even have more that hasn't been processed yet hiding in the back!)
We appreciate that you choose to shop at Seams Like Home and look forward to seeing you in the store,
