Where did April go?! Happy almost May!

Hello SLH Followers,

I can't believe that April is at its end, it seems like it flew by. Luckily May brings all sorts of exciting things; new classes, more fabric, new trims & new patterns, not to mention more sunny weather! And for my sister and I, it brings May 1st which will be our 27th birthday!

NEW CLASSES

We have added two new classes for May!

Princess Dress
The first is called the Princess Dress/Shirt taught by Roxanne Benbow. In this awesome fitting class you will make a Princess line dress or basic Shirt dress. Both are beautiful and great for summer outings!

Maternity Basics
The second class is a Maternity basics class where you will learn how to make a Ruched Maternity T-shirt and convert a pre-pregnancy pair of jeans to comfortable maternity jeans. Both of these garments are must-haves for any pregnant gal, you will never want to wear anything else.

NEW PATTERNS

In light of a certain individual being pregnant, we have been researching a line of maternity patterns (see above class!) and have found a line we are in love with. This line is from a designer named Megan Nielsen. She also has a few non-maternity patterns. Those of you looking for some fun, fashionable maternity ideas will be thrilled to know that we've ordered her entire line of patterns, which are due in the store any day! They are reasonable priced and have GREAT instructions, and as you can see from the photo above, come out nicely finished and true to measurement. For those of you anxious to view the patterns, and pick out your favorites, her website is: http://megannielsen.com/. And here are a few as a preview:

In order of appearance:    The Wrapped Maternity Top, The Ruched Maternity Skirt and the Ruched Maternity TShirt.

From Pregnancy to... Toddlerhood

And since we can't forget about what happens to those sweet little babies...they grow into sweet little toddlers (most of them anyway), and in light of all of that is going on in my sweet toddlers life, I thought she needed a new outfit of her own. SLH carries a line of adorable childrens patterns from a company called Oliver + S. If you're in the store you will be able to spot them all over the place, in size ranges corresponding to Alia's growth progress. Currently she is wearing the 5T size (can you believe it..she's only 2 1/2..guess that's what happens when her daddy is 6'4"). This weekend I knocked out this cute outfit for her with a basic quilting cotton as the top and an awesome stretch denim we have for the pants.

This adorable outfit is called the "after-school shirt & pants". We have a variety of these adorable patterns. Come in and check them out. The sizes range from 6 months to 12 years on most outfits.
Check out all of their patterns @ www.oliverands.com

NEW FABRICS

For those of you who like us anxiously await the arrival of new fabrics...we are expectin 500 lbs of new fabric to show up at the store tomorrow! Be sure to keep an eye out for new fabrics making their way out to the floor and into next weeks email!

We also just got our second shipment of new trims. These are great for all sorts of things. I just made myself a new ironing board cover and sewing machine cover, both of which I added fun trims to! Whatever you do with them, have fun and buy at least 2 yards of it (I've found this is a good amount for those random projects we all come up with and want to jazz up a bit). The new trims include a nice selection of Kaffee Fasset deigns!

THE END!

WHEW! Every week when I start these I wonder...what am I going to talk about! :P Apparently, I have no trouble coming up with things to inform you all about! We have so much fun working together and finding new patterns & projects here at SLH that its just so hard not to share it all. I hope you all are enjoying this information and are being inspired by what we at SLH try to bring you.

Looking forward to seeing you in the store,
Enjoli & the Team Members at SLH

P.S: Watch for next weeks email..we will be finding out the gender of the baby twins next Monday! :)
