JCP~How Sewing Machines Work and Why They Don't



In this fun and informative class, Al Hunt will demonstrate how your sewing machine works, how it forms a proper stitch, and why it sometimes doesn’t. You will be amazed what your sewing machine, needle and thread go through as you simply “sew”. Armed with this knowledge you will better understand the issues that commonly undermine your machines ability to sew well. The goal: making sewing more enjoyable and trouble free for you. Instructor Bio:
Al Hunt is a professional sewing machine technician and educator with 38 years? experience in the Hampton Roads area. Over the years, Al has received technical training and repaired for dealers of the leading sewing machine manufacturers, including Singer, Pfaff, Bernina, Viking and Janome to name a few. He has serviced more than 38,000 sewing machines.

Al is a Bernina Certified Technician, and has been since the early 80?s, assisting many independent dealers. As a National Resource Trainer for Bernina of America, Al has taught hundreds of Bernina technicians throughout the United States and at Bernina University. He wrote the book ?Servicing Competitive Brand Sewing Machines? used by Bernina technicians.

As a consultant for NASA, Al has worked on projects for the International Space Station, manned flight to Mars, and habitation of the Moon and Mars.

Al can be found servicing all brands of household, industrial and long arm machines all over Southeastern Virginia and from his home in Poquoson, Virginia.
