Well, the weather seems to be holding out and staying nice! Its hard to believe that its the end of August. That means the fall classes have started and my little monster is another month older! (I'm sticking my head in the sand and refusing to acknowledge this!) But the older he gets the cuter he gets I think! So i'm forced to show you a picture :)

In case you didn't know, September is National Sewing Month!! I know its still August, but I wanted to give you a heads up, that starting September first the Bernina Specials will be awesome and continue the whole month! So stay tuned for those!!
"Stuff Your Sack" Event
Saturday, September 5 from 10-12 noon, Come in and stuff your bag! What ever fits you get! We will have select items in the classroom to choose from. Some items will be brand new and some will be gently used. There will be lots of different items available; fabric, yarn, threads, patterns, books, display, and household items. Put as much stuff as you can into your bag and it's yours! The bag must zip to qualify! Show up at 10am and we will give you a SLH bag to fill with lots of goodies. This event is limited to 30 people, so sign up soon!
And last but not least... The Most Amazing Fabric Ever!
If you are from Alaska and have been to the downtown market you've probably walked by this artist. You've seen her stuff. Thats right, she's local. And she just came out with her artwork as fabric. You guys its AMAZING!
Her name is Karla Morreira. She owns Whalebone Watercolors, and is based in Chugiak.

The ocean panel has an 'extra large' panel of the humpback whales! Its hard to see in the above pictures so here is one of it all by itself!

OOOH LA LA! This line starts shipping in April, which means we will start pre-selling this amazing local fabric in March!! If you're interested make sure you get in and get on the list! Its not going to last long, matter of fact it may not get past our staff!!
